Hello ProBrewers,
I'm having a real mental block:
I'm submitting a SOP to the TTB, PDQ! Okay, here's the problem:
the flavoring I'm adding to my finished beer has an alcohol percent of 32.36 by weight. I'm adding 130 ounces to 310 gallons finished beer. Beer has a pre-addition alcohol percent of 5.5 by weight.
How much alcohol am I adding with the addition of the flavoring?
:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Thanks for any insight,
Prost!
Dave

If you convert gallons to ounces, multiply ounces by alcohol volumes, add together and divide by total ounces, the average goes up to 5.6% alcohol. Does that sound right?

That sounds and looks right. The logic holds for me.
Thanks a ton.

Here's your mixing equation:
Aa+Bb=Cc (the most important equation I learned at Seibel!)

128 oz in a gallon

(130 oz)(32.36) + (( 310 gal. X 128 oz) ( 5.5) ) =((310X128)+130)) (c)
solve for c

4206.8+218240=39810 (c)
222446.8=39810 (c)
c=5.587

So, very little increase, but the ttb has to know. Had the same issue with my Cherry wheat. They should accept that number.
