    Here's an interesting study on wine that's marketed organic. Check this out and see if it relates to beer/ale sales too. Odd that organic labels are sometimes seen as a detriment. Cool that organic wine is superior to conventional wine.



    What do you think? A bad rep from the past can persist a very long time?

    I think a lot of things are at play here. The fact that the author used the careful language "organically grown grapes" instead of "organic wine" throughout the article should be noted, although I'm glad she eventually acknowledged the sulfite issue because all of the sulfite-free wines I've tried have tasted like ass (sulfite allergies run in my wife's family, so a nice sulfite-free wine would be a great find). The price correlation doesn't seem credible either, since higher prices tend to be associated with higher quality whether it's true or not - especially in the wine industry. If a winery grows its grapes organically and charge a higher price for the resulting wines, people are going to think the wines are better to some degree.
