  • QA/lab tech needed

The Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre, PA is seeking one person to serve as a QA technician and general supervisor.

Make no mistake, this is a very demanding position with a great deal of responsibility. It is, however, a great place to make a start in the brewing industry without having to shovel out mash tuns.

    Basics of the job:
    - minimum 9-hour workday, with the understanding that you'll have a good attitude about staying longer fairly often.
    - minimum 6-day work week, with the same understanding as above.
    - this is a non-union salary position in a union shop.
    - salary commensurate with experience

    Requirements:
    - 4-year degree
    - lab experience greatly preferred
    - excellent people skills are a must
    - strong work ethic
    - basic knowledge of the process of brewing and/or packaging beer, soda and other soft drinks
    - previous leadership or management experience strongly recommended
    - knowledge of OSHA, HACCP, Kosher, USDA Organic, and other programs and policies a bonus

    Benefits:
    - full medical benefits (med, dental, vision)
    - 401K after probationary period
    - lots of exercise
    - career progression potential for the right individual

If you're interested please send resumes and cover letters to me at the following email address - make sure to stick the "@" in (trying to beat the spammers):

    Thanks for your consideration.

I find it hard to believe since I made it sound so tempting, but this position is still open, along with several others. We are restructuring our brewhouse leadership - submit a resume and let us find a place for you!

Is a minimum 54 hour week legal in PA without paying OT? There seems to be a disconnect between the title of the job and the requirements/basics listed.
      Cheers!
