    SHIPPING AND RECEIVING ASSISTANT

    PURPOSE: Provide support to the Shipping Lead in the brewery shipping and receiving department.

    • Perform duties related to the requisition, reception, storage, and disbursement of materials and supplies
    • Select space and prepare product for storage, and place materials in designated areas
    • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment in order to unload trucks, and move and store materials and supplies.
    • Check requisitions and inspect materials to insure accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality
    • Prepare order for shipping, load trucks, and maintain records of product shipped.
    • Perform miscellaneous tasks as required
    • Strong mechanical background
    • Willingness to work at a VERY fast pace, yet be precise in your daily tasks
    • STRONG communication skills
    • Flexible availability
    • Desire to learn
    • Independent team player with get er done attitude
    • Fairly twisted sense of humor and appreciation of fine beer

    Job Requirements:
    • Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license
    • Possession of forklift certification upon request of management

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Knowledge of materials management and inventory control methods and procedures
    • Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices
    • Knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials used in shipping and receiving
    • Knowledge of applicable safety precautions for handling hazardous and flammable materials
    • Knowledge of the proper storage procedures and operations of beer
    • Knowledge and skill in running computer applications used for inventory management
    • Knowledge and skill in operating forklifts and front-end loaders
    • Skill in using hand tools and power tools including pallet lift

    Ability Requirements:
    • Ability to maintain accurate records
    • Ability to read, write, and perform accurate mathematical calculations
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, contractors, and the general public
    • Ability to work year round in a variety of weather conditions
    • Ability to work in a noisy environment
    • Ability to attend work on a regular basis

    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee to employ traditional lifting methods
    • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold
    • Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals
    • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
    • Ability to work in a moderate noise level
