  • Speakeasy (SF) Looking for Production Manager

    Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a passionate, results-driven manager to complete our tight-knit management team and be an integral part of our continued expansion as one of San Francisco’s leading craft breweries.

    Maintaining the second half of the chain of production from the time the finished beer leaves the bright tank till it gets loaded on the docks, our this person will coordinate, manage and oversee all aspects of packaging, kegging, warehouse management and order fulfillment. Clear communication with our head brewer, director of sales and distributor network must be established to create and maintain accurate projections.

    Our ideal candidate will be a leader with excellent planning skills that enjoys working with a variety of personalities both within our company and the beer industry. He or she will maintain acute attention-to-detail and integrity at every level. Working in a high-volume, yet small company where often it’s “all hands on deck” to get the job done, this person will lead the production & warehouse team by example and maintain a high level of morale.

    They will thrive on efficiency and be adept at the challenge of meeting deadlines, while always adhering to the highest standards of quality. Prior brewery experience is necessary and special consideration will be given to candidates that possess a degree in brewing, chemical engineering or food science. Prior lab work is also preferred.

    Duties:
    -Ordering of all packaging materials and cooperage
    -Creating and managing shipping schedules
    -Ensuring quality control
    -Filing ABC/TTB compliance
    -Evaluating supply chain and exploring efficiencies
    -Managing production staff and scheduling
    -Understanding of all equipment function and ability to perform all subordinate duties
    -Evaluating and reporting on production efficiency
    -Possessing strong knowledge of Excel and Mac interface
    -Forecasting depletions and scheduling accordingly
    -Oversight of building maintenance and cleanliness standards

    While someone with prior brewing experience is preferable, and we often will all collaborate and give input to make sure we’re always making the best beer we can, this position does not include any day-to-day brewing or brewhouse management. As we expand, there will be ample opportunities to grow into a larger role.

    This is a salaried position with medical/dental benefits, paid vacation; company issued computer and iPhone, as well as a weekly allocation of beer.
