SUMMARY: This salaried position is responsible for carrying out routine process control testing, analysis and reporting for a craft brewery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Quality Control laboratory functions:
Raw material analysis & specifications
Microbiological assay program
Analytical process control & monitoring
Yeast propagation & management
Packages and packaging materials
Sensory evaluation program
Analyze production data
Assists with conducting quality audits throughout the production environment
Coordinate with and respond to other departments in order to continually address and improve quality
Updates Standard Operating Procedures for department
Maintenance of a clean and organized lab along with ensuring adequate lab consumable levels
Involvement with consumer communications
THE IDEAL CANIDATE WOULD POSSESS:
QA/QC experience in commercial brewery or food/beverage industry
Minimum of 1 year experience in related field with Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
Brewing education from a recognized institution.
Experience with following systems:
Microbiological assays
Analytical instrumentation
Flavor panel experience with formalized training
Statistical process control
Compensation will be dependent on educational background and brewing experience. Benefits include medical insurance, 401K and paid vacation.
