  • The chicken or the egg?

A little about me: I'm a soldier currently in Afghanistan and soon will be back home (which for the short term is Germany) and have been scratching together a business plan with my homebrew partner of many years to make a stab at a small 10-15 bbl brewery.

I have a ton of questions, many of which have already been answered here. What I cannot grasp yet though, is what comes first? Hence the chicken or egg title.

Does a license to brew beer come before the financing? Is a license given when financing is still being worked out and the exact location is not known?

    Thank you for your insight!

You have to have an address where the operation will be BEFORE you apply to TTB.

    Best of luck!

Usually what comes first is working in a brewery for someone else... Unless you have boatloads of money you are willing to lose.

Financing first, all of it..... realistically.
