Allagash Brewing in Portland Maine is looking to immediatly fill the following position:
Packaging Manager
General Description:
· Full-time Position, predominantly Monday-Friday daytime hours
· Will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the packaging department.
· This position will report to the Brewmaster
Responsibilities
· Manage the safe and efficient operation of our bottling line
o 12 oz crowned bottles, 750 ml and 375 ml Cork bottles
· Manage the safe and Efficient operation of our Keg line
· Management, training and supervision of packaging line employees
· Help in the management of flow of raw materials and finished beer in and out of our brewery and to our off-site warehouse
· Communication with production team to ensure efficient packaging of beer
· Involvement with weekly scheduling
· Work with maintenance department on routine maintenance and general efficient operation of the packaging equipment
· Work with the QC department to run the packaging QC program
Necessary Characteristics/Experience:
· Minimum 2 years experience in packaging operations, ideally in a supervisory role at a Brewery
· Excellent communication skills and leadership ability
· Ability to effectively manage a team , keeping them motivated and happy
· Mechanical ability and technical knowledge of high speed packaging equipment
· Knowledge and experience with control systems
· Ability to trouble shoot equipment
· Willingness to work on the packaging lines as a part of the packaging team
· Ability to perform quality control analysis
· Solid computer skills
