POSITION: Field Quality Specialist
DEPARTMENT: QC

GRADE: 24
REPORTS TO: Brewing and Quality Control Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for promoting Great Lakes Brewing Company products and for monitoring & ensuring quality in the field while maintaining professional business relations with distributors and retailers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
• Maintain product inspection procedures and standards for draft equipment, draft beer, and packaged beer for on and off premise accounts according to GLBC’s Field Quality manual
• Produce monthly out of code reports for all market areas
• Promptly conduct 10 weekly account surveys/audits
• Train GLBC accounts in the areas of maintenance of draft lines and rotation of GLBC product according to GLBC’s Field Quality manual
• Conduct annual distributor audit in territories which make up 80% of sales volume
• Ensure the distributor’s inventories and retail trade are rotated properly and are in code
• Effectively communicate Field Quality Control reports to the appropriate personnel including Manager of Brewing & QC and General Sales Manager
• Assist distributors with new and different ways to clean and monitor product quality
• Continually seek opportunities for quality improvement
• Successful completion of relevant draft system training
• Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree science related field, or recognized brewing technical certification is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required
• Solid working knowledge of draft systems including the ability to troubleshoot
• Expert working knowledge of quality assurance standards
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential
• Ability to operate in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized
• Willingness to work flexible and extended hours as needed (including evenings and Saturdays)
• Willingness to travel out of area
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
