Speakeasy Ales & Lagers – brewers of Big Daddy IPA, Prohibition Ale and a whole gang of distinctive beers – is rapidly expanding across California and the West Coast and looking for the right person to manage our sales efforts in the Sacramento/Tahoe region. Operating in San Francisco since 1997, we were founded by the passions of homebrewers with the idea of making good beer for those who dare to challenge the status quo.
We are an edgy, youthful company, and we’re excited to bring our unique brand of beer to a larger audience. Having just completed a major brewery expansion into a new facility, we are aggressively pursuing new markets and new fans. We want to find someone to join our tight-knit family who shares our passion.
This field-based Market Manager position covers a large territory including the entire Sacramento Valley, the Northern Sierras and Tahoe, and Northern Nevada. Responsibilities include fostering our business in five distributor territories, developing a strong draft presence in the on-premise and building our package business in grocery stores and bottle shops across the region.
Our Market Managers are field generals who are asked to wear many different hats: making sales calls, managing a presitigious distribution network, maintaining a strong public presence, ensuring quality control and being a resident beer expert. You should be adept at prospecting for new accounts, cultivating lasting relationships and promoting our brand tirelessly at tasting events and festivals.
Our ideal candidate will:
…live in the Sacramento area (Midtown a plus)
…have a passion for craft beer and good food
…have at least two years of sales or field marketing experience
…have prior beer/beverage industry or distribution experience
…be organized, independent, and self-motivated
…be able to work nights and weekends
…rise to the challenge to meet aggressive goals and expectations
…have a reliable car, insurance and clean driving record
…be able to lift 50+ pounds
…be comfortable with Mac-based software and MS Office
…possess a BA or undergraduate degree in business or marketing
