  • Off Centered Packaging Supervisor

    Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is seeking an off-centered, quality focused, experienced, safety driven Packaging Supervisor to join our growing Packaging Team of 20; spanning three busy shifts. Under general supervision of the Packaging Manager, you will work hard to ensure that healthy beer efficiently flows into bottles, cases and kegs on schedule and on time. You will collaborate with the brewing, quality and maintenance teams to ensure beer is ready for packaging per the schedule, at the highest quality standard and that all packaging machines are consistently ready to run and are properly maintained. You will ensure production is accurately and fully documented for timely reporting and thorough recordkeeping. You will create, communicate, train and maintain accurate and current SOP’s for all packaging positions and packaging programs. You will champion departmental efficiency, quality, safety, recycling and cleanliness initiatives. You’ll also provide leadership by example as well as select, train and retain a staff of superior performers. You’ll get to do a lot of other stuff too and have fun doing it, all while making sure off-centered and tasty beer makes it into eager kegs and bottles.

    The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Operations Management, Engineering or Business Administration; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in supervision (preferably in beverage/food processing). A minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a packaging/production environment is a must. You must be a great communicator, who is able to build rapport and camaraderie both inter- and intra-departmentally. You should have a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency, constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of improvement. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally maneuver 200 lb kegs as needed. Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis. Forklift certification or experience is a plus; ability to become Dogfish Head forklift certified is required. Must be open to a flexible work, general days Monday – Friday, working either first or second shift. Occasional weekend may be required based on production needs.
