Packaging Line Mechanic/Operator

Become part of the team at Green Flash Brewing Co., located in San Diego, CA. Green Flash Brewing Company seeks an experienced team player to join our rapidly expanding brewery. The packaging line mechanic/operator will work with the packaging supervisor and head brewer to bring the highest level of performance and preventative maintenance to Green Flash’s mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• To operate and maintain the Crown/Cemco 72 head filler, Krones Topmatic Labeler and all other associated bottling line machines. To improve machine performance on a continuous basis.
• Maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and all other mechanical aspects of bottling lines.
• Performance of preventative maintenance on bottling equipment with emphasis on improvement of process and performance of machinery.
• Train bottling line personnel in proper machine operation.
• Be responsible for managing safety related items for all machinery.
• Willingness to bring new ideas for improvement and to implement these ideas.
• Maintenance and repair of Premier Stainless automatic keg washer. Periodic operation of keg washer and filler.
• Maintenance and repair of other building systems.
• Maintenance and repair of steam boiler and refrigeration systems preferred.

Job Requirements

• Great attitude. Must have the personality and attitude to interact productively with others, accept direction from managers and direct bottling staff as necessary.
• Adherence to standard operating procedures required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• PLC programming a plus.
• Previous bottling line or packaging line maintenance experience required.
• Background in fabrication, welding, electrical and/or other related mechanical fields required.
• Ability to accurately follow instructions and take direction.
• Problem-solving skills in mechanical and electrical areas.
• Ability to respond to frequently changing production schedule.
• Ability to handle numerous projects in progress at one time.
• Good communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Valid Driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to comprehend electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints, schematics, diagrams and manuals.
• Ensure preventative maintenance procedures occur accurately and routinely.
• Repair, adjust and replace defective machine parts.
• Flexible to work evening and overtime shifts when needed.
• Work closely with management to resolve problems.
• Work with contractors to initiate, monitor and complete projects within facility.
• Packaging line mechanic/operator will stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 165 lbs., and reach over shoulders, normal hearing required, normal vision required, eye/hand coordination, finger, wrist and hand motion.
