Full-Time Brewer Wanted
Opportunity Description
LCCB is a production brewery located directly between Richmond and Charlottesville, Virginia. We have the privilege of being located on an active 221 acre farm. The brewery will be housed in a newly built, Virginia Farm-Style building containing a new direct fire JVNW 20 barrel system. LCCB seeks an individual with a minimum of 2 years of production brewing experience. We prefer a candidate with versatility in many beer styles, and experience with producing bottle-conditioned and barrel aged beers. We will be opening in January 2013.
This is a unique opportunity to start at the very beginning of what is sure to be an amazing adventure. Via our seasonal and bi-seasonal releases, we will be constantly exploring the variations in beer and pursuing the next great recipe. We are a small batch, quality dedicated farm brewery that promises to provide new flavor experiences to our markets and to explore the boundaries of beer production.
Necessary Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years experience at a well known and respected production brewery (this requirement is non-negotiable)
• Professional qualifications from an established brewing educational program (UC Davis, VLB, Siebel, Heriot-Watt, Doemens, ABG, etc)
• Experience with bottle-conditioned and barrel aged beers
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple brewing styles and to create delicious and interesting new recipes
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Must be comfortable following Standard Operating Procedures
• Experience operating a forklift
• Physical ability to lift 55 lbs. to shoulder height repeatedly, stand for long periods of time, and maneuver beer kegs (165 lbs.) around the facility.
• Computer literate – Preferably experienced with Microsoft Office and SAP
• Commitment to continuous improvement
• Displays meticulous attention to detail
• Functions well as a team player
• Ability to maintain high quality standards without direct supervision
• Complete schedule availability and willingness to work flexible hours
• Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
