The Gananoque Brewing Company is looking to hire an assistant brewer/cellarperson for our new brewery in Gananoque, Ontario (half way between Toronto and Montreal), in the amazing Thousand Islands!
We are currently contract brewing in Niagara Falls and Campbellford and are in the process of establishing our own plant in Gananoque. We currently produce Naughty Otter Lager, Train Wreck Strong Ale and a series of “terroir” products, such as Red Fife Heritage Wheat and Shiver Eisbock. We anticipate brewing 2000-3000 hecs this year scaling up over the next few years. The assistant brewer will work closely with our current contract brewers and will help us transition to our new production facilities once they are established. On an interim basis the assistant brewer will also handle cellaring functions.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working in small breweries, who have a great attitude and who can be a key member of our growing team. We need someone who can handle the physical demands of the work in a safe manner, who has a strong work ethic and who can help us to make great beer.
Although this position will eventually be located in Gananoque, Ontario, for the initial 4-6 months this position will work in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Campbellford and Gananoque. This position would be ideal for someone from the Niagara/Greater Toronto area who is willing to relocate early in the New Year. Drivers license required. Automobile would be an asset. French would be an asset.
It is anticipated that the assistant brewer/cellarperson position will be 40 hours per week. Alternatively, if you are only interested in the assistant brewer position and not the cellarperson position we could negotiate a smaller contract. Compensation to be negotiated based on experience.
