    Three Taverns Craft Brewery seeks Head Production Brewer

    Three Taverns is a dynamic new, fully-funded, start-up brewery in the burgeoning beer hub of Decatur, GA, a short 6 miles from downtown Atlanta. Decatur is a walking community filled with amazing people, restaurants, shops and beer bars, including the world-famous Brick Store Pub. With a new NSI 30 bbl 4 vessel system on order for receipt the end of February, we are looking for a head brewer to assist our beverage marketing trained owner and long-time home-brewer in the design, build-out and management of this amazing new brewery. We are launching with our New Monastic Series of uniquely distinct Belgian-inspired American craft beers. With a mantra of “Transcendo Mediocris”, we are seeking an inspired and energetic brewer to join in our vision for a new kind of southern brewery, a brewery passionate for surpassing quality and new discoveries.     Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    - Manage the Three Taverns brewing facility
    - Brew and uphold our high standards of quality for distinctive, world-class beers
    - Collaborate with owner/brewmaster in designing inspiring new beers
    - Build, develop and lead a team of passionate employees
    - Manage raw ingredient inventories, cost of goods, scheduling, forecasts and contracts
    - Manage and develop procedures for Quality Testing and Control
    - Continuously innovate and improve our operational and brewing practices and processes
    - Be willing to pitch in on tasks outside your key responsibilities
    - Able to appreciate beer without personal abuse-related problems
    - Engage the public through festivals, events and competitions


    Knowledge, skill and experience:
    * Minimum 3 years in a professional brewing capacity with a preferred degree or certification in brewing science
    * Must have strong knowledge and background in production brewing and beer/fermentation science, with preferred experience in bottle conditioning and Belgian-style ales
    * Must have strong verbal communication and organizational skills
    * Must be able to work independently, as well as within a team environment
    * Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
    * Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of wort production, yeast handling, cellaring, CIP and sanitizing
    * Must have a strong mechanical background and aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems
    * Should have the ability to develop, execute and manage a brewery preventative maintenance (PM) program
    * Should have prior packaging, bottling and racking experience
    * Should have a good understanding of Lab Operations /Quality Assurance /Quality Control
    * Should have "hands on" leadership skills, with the ability to work within and lead as a part of a team
    * Should have inventory management experience; ordering raw materials and parts, recording and monitoring raw materials and parts in house
    * Should have the desire to learn and teach others
    * Should have a strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure and multitask
