We are ready for the most important part of our new company…the head brewer. West Okoboji Beer Company, LLC is a fresh new packaging microbrewery that will be nestled just off-shore of West Lake Okoboji. The Iowa Great Lakes region is regarded as one of the most well-know vacation destinations of the upper Midwest. As we type, we are erecting our new steel building and anticipating the arrival of our new 15 BBL brewhouse and support equipment.
General:
If you’ve been waiting for your own gig, ground floor, front door…here it is. West O Beer’s head brewer will be front and center. From style choices, recipe development, and full production operation the company’s head brewer will have their hands in it all. The Midwest beer boom is about to hit its stride…join us.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Developing and producing consistently good beer
-Managing all levels of production from raw ingredients to package
-Managing inventory, contracts and assisting in production and sales reports
-Training and managing assisting employees
-Working with owner in developing schedules, best practices and quality control
Requirements include but are not limited to:
-A true passion for local craft beer and the utmost respect for its consumers
-Willingness to be a part of a larger team
-Minimum (2) years experience in a commercial brewery
-Sound understanding of beer production from raw ingredients to package
-Able to organize, communicate, manage, analyze, troubleshoot, adapt & execute
-Formal brewing education a plus
