Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company is currently looking to add another production brewer to our existing staff. We currently operate a 20bbl, 3-vessel brewhouse and are on pace to produce 7000 bbl this year. This year is our 15th anniversary and we have grown steadily year over year. We are looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, and would love to live in the mountains of Montana. This is a full time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Working both independently and as part of a team
• Following established SOP’s
• Brewhouse operations including wort production and vessel cleaning
• CIP of fermenters, heat exchanger, brite tanks, and external calandria
• Did I mention cleaning things
• Safely and carefully working with powerful chemicals
• Yeast handling
• Understanding of basic brewing science
• Lab experience a plus(cell count, viability testing, etc)
• Ability to critically think on your feet
• Mechanical/troubleshooting aptitude a plus
• Ability to lift 55 lb grain bags
• Safely move 165 lb kegs
• Ability to multi task
• Forklift operation a plus
• Safety first mindset
• Filtration experience (DE) a plus
• Willingness to work on bottling line as necessary
• Willingness to work as part of a rotating 24 hour shift
• 3 years experience in a brewery setting, with at least 1 year of wort production (preferably in a production brewery)
Red Lodge is located in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana, just outside the 900,000-acre Beartooth-Absaroka Wilderness. It is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream close to hiking, skiing, fishing, and hunting to name a few. Yellowstone National Park is a short drive away and Red Lodge has a ski resort and Nordic center just outside of town. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
