Beachwood BBQ and Brewing is looking for a General Manager to oversee and manage the complete front of house operations for our brewpub in downtown Long Beach, CA. We are looking for a beer-loving, enthusiastic, business-minded, and experienced manager.
About Beachwood BBQ:
Beachwood BBQ was founded in 2006. Since our opening, we have been recognized across the country for inventive barbecue and a unique dedication to craft beer, earning us a reputation as a world-class craft beer establishment. The restaurant has built a strong and loyal local customer following as well as garnering a reputation as a destination for serious diners. In 2011, Beachwood BBQ opened a second location with a full brewery in Downtown Long Beach, CA.
This position is a senior level full-time position with frequent work during evenings and weekends for events and promotions.
General Manager Duties:
· Develop and oversee front of house operations that optimize sales, maintains a loyal customer base, and ensures customer satisfaction
· Directly supervise all front of house staff. Create, implement, and maintain training programs. Ensure employee development, morale, and satisfaction
· Direct the craft beer program, including purchasing, planning, maintaining budgets, establishing pricing, monitoring of inventory (kegs and bottles), maintaining of draft system, and developing a beer and wine education program for staff
· Create and coordinate all events, promotions, and marketing related to restaurant and brewery activities
· Manage brewpub profits and losses, including monitoring revenues and expenses, understanding of revenue streams, and impacts to beer and labor costs
· Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and community involvement
· Support back of house management to ensure consistency in food flavor, appearance and quality
Secondary Duties:
· Assist in setting budgetary and production goals
· Handle and deposit cash
· Oversee catering
· Manage payroll for front and back of the house
· Establish and maintain relationships with breweries and industry professionals.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years management in food and beverage industry with demonstrated and increasing levels of responsibility in operations and strategy
· Passion for craft beer
· Functional accounting or bookkeeping experience (this is not an accounting or bookkeeping job, but you should be comfortable with P&L)
· Knowledge of the brewing process and the craft brewing industry are a plus
· Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and speaking
· Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers
· Excellent interpersonal skills with high professionalism
· Ability to accomplish projects with little or no supervision
· Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
· Proficient using MS Word and MS Excel; experience with Macs is a plus
