Narrows Brewing Company is seeking an Office Manager/Executive Assistant (OMEA) for a new 15 Barrel Waterfront Brewery/Tap Room that will be opening in early summer 2013 in Tacoma, Washington. This is the perfect position for a seasoned professional seeking a hands-on position that will have an immediate and consistent impact on the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•3+ years as a manager, restaurant experience a plus
• Effective listening skills and ability to communicate tactfully to a variety of audiences
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
• Self-motivated and energetic
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as necessary
• Demonstrated hiring, scheduling, staffing, experience
• Training and development skills
• Administrative skills
• Past experience with inventory and cost control
• Possess the ability to create an environment of treating others with honesty, dignity, and respect
• Working knowledge of brewing operations is a plus
The OMEA will be actively involved in but not limited to the following activities:
PRE OPENING
1. Help with completion of construction activities and facility set-up
a. Scheduling
b. Ordering
c. Subcontractor communication
d. Utility connections
2. Office Set-up
a. Purchase and set-up office furniture and equipment
b. Coordinate with IT consultant
c. Purchase and set-up computer hardware, software, and POS
d. Set-up payroll
e. Set-up company handbook, safety manual, training manual
3. Marketing coordination
a. Assist Owner/GM with all aspects of marketing
b. Start-up and maintain web site
c. Start-up and maintain social media
4. Human Resources
a. Recruit, hire, and train Tap Room/Sales staff
b. Schedule staff
5. Executive Assistant
a. Assist Owner/GM and Owner/Brewery Manager with all required duties
b. Prepare and maintain budgets
POST OPENING
1. Oversee all front-of-house operations
a. Manage HR
i. Hire/Manage a staff of approximately 6 employees
ii. Recommend promotion or termination of employees based on performance
iii. Manage employee benefits, compliance issues
iv. Provide on-the-job training for new employees
b. Financial management
i. Oversee/coordinateaccounting operations
ii. Payroll
iii. Purchasing
iv. A/P
v. Inventory management
vi. A/R
vii. Billing
viii. Forecasting
ix. Month End/Year End Reconciliation and Closing
x. Prepare and maintain budgets
c. Marketing management
d. Maintain web site and social media
e. Maintain licenses
f. Quarterly Federal and State reporting
g. Assist Owner/GM and Owner/Brewery Manager with all required duties
Special Requirements: Willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends as business dictates. Position requires bending, standing, walking the entire workday. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.
