    Job Overview:

    To provide general maintenance and upkeep of new and existing equipment in all areas of Ninkasi’s facility. To support Production staff with upkeep and process improvements on equipment and facilities in order to produce the highest quality products in a safe and sustainable environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintenance of Brewing and Packaging equipment to produce the highest quality beer.
    • Diagnose and repair of all machinery and process system malfunctions, troubleshooting.
    • Diagnose, repair and overhaul process pumps, automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, electrical AC/DC troubleshooting, and related systems.
    • Ensure all work carried out and equipment installed is safe, effective and in compliance with the appropriate industry and regulatory (FDA, ODA, OSHA, NEC) standards, as well as Ninkasi’s policies and procedures.
    • Actively participate in projects involving new equipment: advise Project Manager on the quality and suitability of proposed equipment, review equipment layouts, work with vendors, assist with validation efforts, write appropriate PM procedures, advise on which spare parts to procure, train teammates, etc.
    • Communicate to supervisor opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
    • Promptly advise management of issues that will adversely and significantly affect Production schedules.
    • Implement assigned projects related to new or modified production equipment, regulatory compliance and other projects as required to support departmental objectives.
    • Ensure the completion of maintenance documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Recognize, develop, and implement opportunities for cost and risk reduction (improved methods, identifying adverse trends, etc.)
    • Communicate regularly and efficiently with Ninkasi staff.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all coworkers.
    • Maintain accurate records and data.
    • Must be available to support shift, weekend and holiday schedules as required.
    • Perform others duties as assigned.

    Primary Skills and Abilities:

    • Process Sanitary Welding-Provide process improvements and repair to existing and new equipment.
    • Fabrication and design of sanitary equipment for Production functions.
    • Integration of Plant subsystems into a fluid network


    Desired Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in Brewery, Dairy, Food Plant, industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related field.
    • Basic math, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent troubleshooting ability, both electrical and mechanical.
    • Sanitary process welding certification, experience, and proficiency.
    • Experience with conveyance and packaging lines.
    • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment. Self-starter, proactive.
    • Valid Drivers License.
