    About the Opportunity

    We are currently looking for a Senior Promotions Manager. The Senior Promotions Manager is responsible for the strategic development, execution, and evaluation of innovative and breakthrough promotional programs that support the National, On-Premise and Off-Premise sales force, drive feature, display, and ad activity, and build the Samuel Adams brand family nationally. In addition, the SPM is responsible for ensuring that all product and brand promotions effectively communicate desired brand attributes to better beer drinkers and drive their engagement with our products and brands.



    Ingredients To Be A Successful Senior Promotions Manager

    Trade Promotions

    •Responsible for the ideation, development, vendor negotiation, alignment with sales leadership, budgeting, and evaluation of all National promotional activity and POS for the Samuel Adams brand family brand across all classes-of-trade during key concentration periods, which will drive sales force execution and build brand equity.
    •Develop ideas for, create and manage all elements of, opportunistic programming beyond the National programs for sales teams, classes of trade and geographies to drive incremental promotional activity, where appropriate.
    •Work closely with Sales leadership to understand the challenges, risks and opportunities facing our brand in the field across the country, and apply these learnings into National and other programming.
    •Own the catalog, and help set Sales force budgets, for everyday promotional items, ensuring that the sales force has high-quality and innovative items they need to drive sales throughout the year.

    Consumer Promotions

    •Lead innovation initiative for BBC, focusing on both short-term and long-term brand equity building projects that create stories which elevate our brands and create stronger relationships with our drinkers, result in value-add PR, and provide the sales force with additional tools to sell against.
    •Ensure that synergies can be optimized between trade (‘push’) and drinker (‘pull’) promotions to increase brand leverage across trade and consumer audiences
    Team Management

    •Manage the promotions team to ensure that all members are able to develop their abilities and position them for growth and success within BBC. Appreciation for both trade and drinker-focused ideas are critical.
    •Evaluate promotions both quantitatively and qualitatively against previous promotions and against current company goals and strategies to ensure that we are continually creating promotions that are improving both sales force execution and brand equity building.
    •Work cross-functionally with Product Development, Creative Services, PR, Events and Social Media team members to ensure that promotions are integrated and support the brand objectives

    Resource Management



    •Responsibilities for each project may include: idea generation, feasibility determination, concept development, drinker testing and implementation.
    • The role will include coordination and management of vendors and cross-functional internal BBC subject-matter experts.
    •Manage vendors in development of ideas, point-of-sale pieces and related value-added concepts, as well as negotiating price and purchase terms to ensure that BBC gets the best possible value.
    •Coordinate and communicate with vendors, BBC sales force and internal team to ensure that all promotions are successfully implemented in a way that creates success, increases brand awareness and drives drinker demand.


    To Be Mixed With:

    •BA required, preferably in Marketing or Business.
    •10+ years’ experience in all aspects of marketing and promotions Previous experience uncovering insights, developing trade or consumer strategy and developing integrated strategic programs.
    •Experience working closely with a sales organization with a strong understanding of developing and executing sales and promotion plans.
    •Experience managing vendor / agency partnerships, including writing creative briefs, preferred.
    •Previous negotiation experience with vendors and/or prospective partners.
    •Experience presenting to small and large groups.
    •Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    •Alcoholic beverage sales a plus.
    •Exhibit sound business judgment in resource allocations, project management, and problem solving with ability to accomplish goals in a timely and cost effective manner.
    •Must be highly organized and possess strong analytical skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
    •Proven results-oriented promotional skills.
