    GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Area Sales Representative is responsible for managing sales efforts for a specific distributor under the guidance and leadership of a Regional Sales Manager. The Area Sales Representative responsibilities are strategically assembled to achieve long-term 21A business goals.
    •Leading and motivating distributorship organization and individual staff
    personnel in achieving share-of-mind
    •Building on and off-premise distribution of cans and draft portfolio
    •Isolating and creating opportunities for continued development of 21st
    Amendment Brewery business
    •Distributor and field execution of brewery point-of-sale materials in retail
    accounts
    •Brewery and brand specific customer (distributor, retail account & end
    consumer) education of 21st Amendment brand positioning, product quality,
    product points of difference, brand innovation, and segment leadership
    •Establish and nurture customer (distributor, retail account & end customer)
    relationships
    •Teaming with Regional Sales Manager; monthly market planning, annual
    sales forecasts and budgets

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    •Communicate strategic brewery business objectives to distributor network
    •Establish quarterly and yearly volume sales and distribution goals by business
    unit
    •Monitor distributor volume sales and brand distribution goals by brand
    •Forecasting, budgeting and leadership of local market business plan
    •Represent Brewery at festivals and special events
    •Organize and run on-premise promotions
    •Organize and run grocery store tastings
    •Day and evening market visits
    •Visit current and potential customers to solidify business and build brewery
    relationships
    •Ride with distributor sales personnel
    •Cold calls to establish new business
    •Merchandise accounts with available POS

    BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
    Area Sales Representatives are responsible for managing specific T & E budgets and market specific Sales budgets. The Area Sales Representative teams with Regional Sales Manager in establishing distributor volume forecasts and associated fiscal budgets.

    COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES Area Sales Representatives review monthly depletion reports, chain reports, quarterly IRI data and quarterly distributor distribution reports to determine which distributors are performing and which distributors need additional support to achieve brand goals.

    EXPERIENCE Area Sales Representatives should have experience in these areas:
    •Interpersonal Skills
    •Self/Time Management Skills
    •PC literacy: Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    •Ability to express oneself in both written and verbal communication

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions and percentages

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Stocking grocery shelves, building displays, delivery of kegs 25% of the time and up to 150 pounds

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Area Sales Representative responsibilities include extensive drive travel, typically in and out of smaller, more obscure markets. This travel is typically high miles and long drive times. Work also encompasses a great deal of weekend and evening hours. There is a high exposure to bar and alcoholic situations, which requires good use of judgment.
