We have a 10 Ton chiller and need a single 30 gpm pump to move fluid through the loop and chiller.
    And recommendations?

    Morning E,
Does the chiller not have an Evaporator recirculation pump (I assume that’s what you’re referring too)?

    Do you have any questions/concerns?

Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

      No pump

Cold Shot 10 ton chiller. No pump.
Manufacturer says it needs 30 GPM. I want to
use 1 pump for the chiller and loop. How do I
control it? How do I manage the pressure
so that it isn't too hi. Loop, 200 gallon tank with
2" In and out, 3" header and return.

      Thanks,

      Eric

That's a tough question to answer with such limited information.

If this pump will be dedicated as an evaporator pump, you need to find out the pressure drop the pump will see across their chiller evaporator and size accordingly. The evaporator pump could be controlled with a thermostat that senses the glycol reservoir temperature- when tank temperature increases over setpoint, it energizes your pump as well as as your refrigeration circuit. If you plan to use a single pump to service evaporator and the brewery, you will need the pump to run constantly.

To size the pump to distribute chilled glycol to the brewery. Find out the flow requirements of each vessel jacket or HX on your brewery loop to determine the process flow requirements. A piping schematic should then be laid out that would enable you to determine the system piping load scheme and determine the proper pump for this purpose.

Did the chiller system come as part of a package from your brewery equipment supplier? Perhaps they can provide you the information needed to get this setup properly. I would also contact the application engineering department at Cold Shot and ask them for guidance on this.

        Hope this helped, Good Luck.

            Goulds Brand

These are the best glycol and loop pumps in my experience.
They are rugged, simply designed and easy to repair.
If you are flying by the seat of the pants, I can tell you the model we are using on a 10 HP system, but as suggested some engineering calcs are best.
Depending on you power selection, I can give information on how to configure it.
