  • Sediment filter post-carbon?

    Just got a quote back for a carbon filter, and the rep is recommending a sediment filter post-carbon which I guess is to prevent the filter media from leaking into the brewing liquor?

    Is this common practice and can we get away w/o it?

    He's right. My standard setup is 5 micron before charcoal and 1 micron afterward to catch carbon fines. Can you get away without one? You could. I wouldn't.
