Position: Lead Brewer
Reports to: Dave Sippel, Director of Brewing Operations
Position Objective: Arcadia Brewing Company's Lead Brewer oversees the daily operations of the plant's Brewhouse and Cellars and coordinates with the company's Packaging, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain Managers in order to maintain the brewery's production schedule.
Position Requirements:
Maintain an ability to fulfill all tasks pertaining to beer production and packaging, including the safe and repeated lifting of up to 55 lbs. and safe maneuvering of kegs weighing up to 165 lbs.
Ensure the proper training and continued development of all new cellar & brewhouse personnel. Regularly communicate with Director of Brewing Operations on the progress that each team member makes. Make recommendations for team members to advance and assume additional responsibilities within the organization.
Weekly assistance to maintain and document accurate inventories of raw materials and other process aids. Order raw materials as needed.
Provide leadership to ensure an always clean, organized and sanitary brewhouse and cellar, including meeting and/or exceeding MI Department of Agriculture requirements.
Continuously work to improve the quality of Arcadia's processes, efficiencies, and data collection/documentation. Become a Company Leader in the collective effort to reduce waste & increase yields.
Work with entire production team to ensure clear, effective communication throughout each step of the production process.
Participation (as available) in Arcadia’s promotional efforts that include brewers representation, including, but not limited to, Brewery Tours, Festivals, Beer Dinners, Tastings and Promotional events.
In Addition:
This is a leadership position within our organization.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
This position is eligible for paid vacation, medical & dental insurance, and company-paid long and short-term disability.
This position is eligible for participation in 401(k) or Roth IRA plans
Arcadia Brewing Company will be opening a second production facility in Kalamazoo, MI (approx. 20 miles from Battle Creek, MI) before the end of 2013. Candidates should ultimately expect to work in the Kalamazoo facility, although the initial position will require work in Battle Creek.
