  • The Bruery - Cellar Person

    The Bruery is seeking a cellar person with character, depth and a mind for the unconventional (just like our beers) to assist in our brewing and cellar operations. The right candidate will be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude and be a team player.

    Cellarman Duties:

    ● All cellar activities including but not limited to: handling raw materials, vessel CIP, yeast harvesting & propagation, cell counting, racking, other aspects of brewing and cellaring beer, and lots of cleaning!
    ● Working with the QA Department, Lead Brewer & Director of Brewing Operations on monitoring fermentation (gravity, pH, cell counts, etc.), sampling, and conducting taste panels.
    ● Maintaining accurate and legible records.
    ● Assisting in bottling, keg cleaning and packaging as needed.
    ● Help supervise and delegate tasks as needed.

    Requirements:

    ● Knowledge – Mastery of the brewing process. Creativity in helping us produce new beers. Able to strictly follow recipes and our standard operating procedures.
    ● Experience – Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role in a packaging brewery is required. A formal brewing education is desirable but will not replace the 1-year minimum experience requirement.
    ● Physical requirements - Our brewery is very labor intensive and requires a lot of attention. Our cellarman must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand for the duration of a shift, shovel hot grain, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly, handle hot and cold liquids, and handle oak barrels. Requires working in a non-temperature controlled environment, proper handling of hazardous materials, and operation of complex machinery.
    ● Time requirements - We operate a 24-hour brewing schedule. Cellarman must have a flexible schedule. Occasional Saturday and Sundays may be required.
    ● Other – Overtime may be required; Travel to and participation in trade shows and beer related events. Must be 21+y.o, and have proof of eligibility to work in the US.
