Fremont Brewing Co. is a fast growing brewery located in Seattle, WA. We are seeking a special individual that possesses a wide range of skills that will enable us to grow and to keep on making great craft beer. This person will ensure that our brewery keeps on running safely and efficiently.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Maintain electrical, mechanical, heating and cooling systems, glycol, plumbing, gas, air, boiler, drain and wastewater systems.
-Work with Head Brewer and Owner on brewery expansion, i.e. brewhouse, packaging, keg washing/filling equipment upgrades.
-Maintain all packaging equipment including keg washer/filler, canning line, bottling line
-Maintain all brewing equipment including pumps, motors, augers, etc.
-Maintain interior of building including floors, walls, woodwork, plumbing, etc.
-Continually work on process and facilities improvements
-Work with the FBC safety team to improve and maintain safety protocols throughout the brewery
-Create and implement a preventative maintenance program
-Continuously monitor all equipment for proper operation
-Work with Head Brewer and Packaging Manager on equipment breakdowns
-Lead all equipment breakdowns
-Work with vendors and contractors on expansion projects
-Manage and maintain ordering and inventory of tools and spare parts
-Maintain a clean and organized tool room/workshop
-Respond to emergencies on off hours if needed
Our preferred candidate would possess the following:
-An obsessive dedication to quality and detail
-Strong communication skills
-High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a mechanical/engineering field is strongly preferred
-3-5 years of work experience in this field. Experience in food and beverage packaging, especially craft brewing strongly preferred
-Basic welding (sanitary experience preferred) , electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and machining.
-Understanding of motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, belts, hydraulics, cylinders, and chains, etc
-Knowledge of AC/DC power, high/low voltage applications, drives, actuated valves, temperature controlers, PLC troubleshooting, and touch panels, etc
-Understand basic fluid flow applications including pipe fitting, pumps, valves, pressures, flow rates, steam, compressed gas, and refrigerant distribution, etc
-Valid WA Drivers License (ability to secure one if not in WA currently)
-A love of beer and working in a fun, team-oriented environment
General Physical Requirements
-Standing for long periods of time (up to 8-12 hours per day)
-Lifting heavy materials (up to 160 pounds)
-Constantly ducking under and around equipment
-Climbing ladders
-Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, climbing, bending
-Ability to work in hot and cold environments
