  • Brewing with gravity?

    Hello all,

I am opening a 3bbl nanobrewery, I have already purchased a mash tun/kettle/and two fermenters. My operation will be small but the space I am working with is also very small, but the ceilings are twelve feet tall. I love the idea of using gravity to operate my system, saving on space and avoiding the use of a pump. I understand it will be a much slower process but that is okay with me, I have access to a pump if need be. Does anyone operate/work with a system that operates via gravity? Could I potentially have the mash tun and kettle elevated above the ground?

    Thanks,
    Victor

I would shoot a message to the folks at Oregon Trail. They Grind on the third floor, mash on the second, boil on the first, and ferment on the second. Kinda crazy but it seems to work in their historic building.
