    Director of Sales

    PURPOSE:
    The Role of Director of Sales is to help lead, train, and coach the MBA Brand Ambassador team to be valuable assets to our distributor, retailer, and brewer partners. The D.O.S. will need to ensure that all executional goals are being made by the brand ambassador team and are being held accountable for doing so. The D.O.S. will need to think independently and develop effective strategies to help grow our business.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Hire, train, coach, and lead MBA Brand Ambassador team.
    • Train MBA brand ambassadors on selling craft beer to retail, developing techniques and identifying opportunities.
    • Train MBA brand ambassadors on all things craft beer including beer ingredients, brewing process, beer styles, proper storage, freshness, serving techniques and commercial examples.
    • Responsible for assuring 100% completion of Brand Ambassador Tasting/Event recaps to be sent to suppliers and MBA distributor network
    • Maintain contact and communication with MBA distributor network craft managers, craft & specialty reps, & MBA office staff.
    • Work with MBA craft managers to help activate supplier programming at distributor and retail level.
    • Build strategies to help obtain execution, distribution and volume goals developed by partner distributors and suppliers.
    • Maintain contact and communication with MBA suppliers.
    • Work with MBA Suppliers at retail and support brand development strategies.
    • Communicate all new brewery and brand initiatives to distributors and key retailers.
    • Responsible for developing strong retail relationships with “Key” on and off premise craft centric - accounts across the state of Massachusetts.
    • Champion visibility of MBA Brands and World Class Beer at retail level.
    • Build share of mind of MBA brands and World Class Beer at distributor level.
    • Act as an MBA liaison for local beer festivals.
    • Participate in some conference calls with MBA Board Members.
    • Participate in Supplier/MBA/Distributor sales meetings.
    • Must be a fresh beer champion
    • Weekly paperwork will be required
    • Some travel may be required including GABF, CBC, Savor, Brewery Visits across US and international
    • Other administrative duties as assigned.

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Must have at least Cicerone Level 1 Beer Server Certification. This position will require Level 2 Certification within first year of hire.
    • Previous sales and distributor management in beer or beverage industry.
    • Excellent time management
    • Confident and willing to question conventional wisdom.
    • Enjoy a very fast paced environment.
    • Strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
    • A creative thinker- flexible to spearhead independent projects
    • Upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and extremely organized.
    • Craft Beer Afficionado

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Business, Marketing, Accounting, or related discipline. Must have at least 2 years of related work experience.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Proven ability to use data and analytics to develop insights.
