  • Raleigh Brewing Company looking for Brewery Employee

Raleigh Brewing is seeking a brewery employee to assist with our growing brewery. The perfect candidate will be mindful of safety, quality-focused, have a fantastic work ethic, a positive attitude and willing to work seamlessly within a team.

    Duties:

    ● All job duties including but not limited to: handling raw materials, vessel CIP, yeast harvesting, racking, fining, tracking cooler inventory, and general daily cleaning.
    ● Working with the Head Brewer & Production Manager on monitoring fermentation (gravity, carbonation, etc.), sampling, and conducting taste panels.
    ● Maintaining accurate and legible records.
    ● Assisting in bottling, keg cleaning and packaging as needed.

    Qualifications (IMPORTANT):

Technical Knowledge– Our ideal candidate will possess an intermediate understanding of one of the following: electrical systems, plumbing, small engine repair, welding, microbiology, OR water chemistry. Brewery work is not just making beer. There are a lot of maintenance requirements and having someone who is proficient in one of these areas will mean more to us than someone with brewing knowledge.
Passion for Beer – You MUST have a genuine interest in craft beer. It's difficult to teach one who has little passion for the subject they're being taught.
Experience – Minimum of 1-year experience in either one of the above technical disciplines OR 1-year of brewery experience is required. A formal brewing education is a plus but will not replace the 1-year minimum experience requirement.
Physical requirements - This position will require the candidate to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand for the duration of a shift, shovel hot grain, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly, handle hot and cold liquids, and handle oak barrels on occasion. Requires working in a non-temperature controlled environment, proper handling of hazardous materials, and operation of complex machinery.
Time requirements – A typical 40-50/wk schedule is required of this position. Occasional Saturday and Sundays may be required but are rare...for now.
Other – Must be at least 21 years of age and have proof of eligibility to work in the US.

Compensation is commiserate on experience and level of training required to bring potential employee up to speed. After 3-month trial period, 401K is available.
