    Brewing beer is cool and all, but there’s no point if we can’t get it packaged up and out to the market. As such, we’re hiring a Packaging Supervisor to join our team at the new brewery.

    Role:

    This position has upward mobility to grow within the packaging department and beyond. This position reports to the Director of Brewing Operations and is directly responsible for the daily administration and operation of the packaging department. The Packaging Supervisor is a position of leadership and requires being “hands-on” in the brewery to ensure packaging operations maintain on schedule & efficient operations. The packaging department includes kegging, canning 12-oz cans on our Wild Goose Canner and bottling 22-oz bottles on our Meheen bottling line.

    Duties:

    -Supervises and coordinates resources and personnel for packaging runs
    -Regularly inspects and maintains packaging equipment to ensure efficient performance
    -Interfaces with production, sales and purchasing leads to ensure efficient production flow
    -Trains workers in safe operation of equipment and position responsibilities
    -Performs CIP and SIP’s on all packaging equipment
    -Manage daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation and cleaning log books
    -Take part in daily cleaning of all equipment
    -Ability to perform QA and QC checks on all packaged product while running the line.
    -Ensure business metrics and or goals are met.
    -Perform month end raw material inventory counts.
    -Maintain accurate production reporting at all times.
    -Responsible for reviewing, writing and updating SOP’s.
    -Ability to supervise more than one line or process at a time.
    -Ensures daily production records are filled out completely and accurately

    Qualifications:
    -Must have 2+ years of brewery or other production experience, proven leadership and supervisory skills/experience
    -2 year degree in Mechanical Systems, Engine Repair or similar technical-based degree program or relevant work experience and educational attainment
    -Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands on approach to working on machinery
    -Proven problem solving/conflict resolution skills; be able to think through issues and arrive at well thought-out conclusions
    -Ability to successfully motivate and coach others
    -Strong follow through, communication, interpersonal, and team building skills
    -Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a ‘get-it-done, can-do’ attitude
    -Must practice safe work methods and comply with wearing and using the proper PPE 100% of the time on the floor and always work in a safe manner
    -Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repetitively throughout the shift
    -Tolerate Hot and Cold temperature conditions in Production Environment
    -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to endure on a daily basis; walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, and crouching
    -Must be able to work assigned shifts as needed (Days or Afternoons) and be on-call in the event of mechanical breakdown or system failure in any packaging process

    Equipment & Materials used:
    -Automated and Semi-automated packaging equipment
    -Forklifts, pallet jacks and scissor lifts
    -Various hand and power tools
    -Various cleaning agents and hazardous chemicals
    -Compressed air, CO2 and Nitrogen
    -Desktop Computer (MS Office, Cloud Based Production Software)
