  • Beer Filtration for 30 BBL Batches

I'm trying to finalize my filtration equipment and determine appropriate sizing. We will have a 15 BBL brewery and will be filtering 15 BBL and 30 BBL batches. We are interested in a lenticular filter for polishing and a membrane filter for sanitary filtration. My first question is what is the best size filter for these batch sizes? I've see lenticular filters and membrane filters at GW Kent and have received a quote on Pall filter housings - Pall FBT013G23H4 (holds 10", 20", or 30" cartridges) and Pall SupraDisc II Filter Housing WSFZ162F31UX5H4 (16" x 2-module). I'm assuming the Pall equipment is better because its more expensive, but why is it better? What is the difference? Also is 16" x 2-module sufficient? What about the sterile filtration?

    Support is the word.

I have SupraDisc II filter with16" modules. Easy to use. 4 modules should be fine for 30BBBLs. I know the place that run 1500BBLs thru one set of modules. I do not do that much on my modules thou.
