Packaging Manager
Employment Status: Full-time Salaried
Reports to: Brewmaster
General Job Description:
The packaging manager will be responsible for operating and maintaining the UCBC bottling and kegging equipment in our newly installed brewery.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Trains, schedules and supervises packaging staff.
• Responsible for consistent communications and conducting line meetings with staff.
• Performs regular filler CIP and maintains cleanliness of packaging areas.
• Assists QA department with QC checks on packaged products while operating the line.
• Performs troubleshooting of all packaging equipment
• Understands production systems and diagnoses sources of machine failure to make necessary repairs.
• Ensures efficient and long lasting operation of machines.
• Maintains spare parts inventory.
• Communicate effectively with brewery and warehouse staff to schedule production runs.
• Observes industry quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
• Minimum of a 2-4 year technical degree or an associate degree in an applicable technical field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of proven leadership and supervisory skills/experience.
• Experience with advanced beer packaging equipment.
• Very strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills.
• Able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of industry safe work practices.
• Able to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Proven problem solving skills.
• Self-starter, proactive, open-minded, positive approach.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
• Ability to successfully motivate and coach others.
• Highly effective multi-tasker.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts as needed.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to endure on a daily basis, walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, and crouching.
