Fish Brewing Company in Olympia, WA is seeking a hard-working, industrious, detail-oriented person to work in the cellar portion of the brewery.
Primary responsibility
- Fermentation Sanitation. Ensuring all tanks and material in fermentation are clean and ready according to SOP and schedule.
- Fermentation Life cycle. This includes gravities, Capping, temperature control.
- Harvesting yeast for brewers pitch or dumping yeast for filtration
- Bright tank carbonations. Having tanks carbonated and ready according to schedule.
- General sanitation and cleanliness of fermentation area.
- Doing necessary fermentation test such as fomenter CO2, gravities, O2 testing, cell counts, waste measurements.
- Filling out all forms including fermentation log, CIP log, tank tags, and all other applicable forms.
- Follow and help develop company SOP's
- Follow all company, state and federal laws
Secondary responsibility
- Assist filtration with end of day task, including CIP if necessary.
- Assist brewers with task such as dry hopping or grain if necessary.
- Assist in cleaning bright tank if time allows.
- Assist in Cidery if necessary.
The right person will have knowledge and experience , preferably in excess of 2 years, working in a brewery and preferably performing some or all of the duties described above. This is a hard-working but fun position working for a downtown Olympia community icon.
