    COOP Ale Works is a 5-year old production/packaging craft brewery located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s heartbeat and home of a growing craft beer scene. We recently completed an expansion that has tripled our physical space and immediate fermentation capacity, and should provide us a 5-9 year home. As we grow into new space, new markets and new beers, one of our goals is to build efficient and effective craft brewing operations that allow us to maximize our creative freedom, all while maintaining the highest quality standards in the business and delivering our faithful fans what they expect. We are looking to add aggressive, passionate and talented team members who have the drive to embrace our culture and objectives, and grow with us into the future. The faint of heart need not apply.

    Job Description

    • The Operations Manager will lead our operations staff in all manners of brewing, cellaring, packaging, facility management, safety and QA/QC.

    Job Responsibilities
    • 2-week brewing immersion with Head Brewer
    • 1-week packaging immersion with packaging staff
    • Manage all brewery operations as guided by the Founders and Head Brewer
    • Build, amend, implement and manage beer production protocol, procedures and standards
    • Build, amend, implement and manage safety standards and procedures
    • Manage all equipment and facility maintenance (preventative and reactive) and cleaning standards/regiments
    • Manage all future equipment additions, upgrades and repairs, to include large expansion projects
    • Develop and manage beer production schedule and staff schedules, maximizing production and labor efficiencies
    • Assist Founders with development and implementation of inventory control program
    • Assist Head Brewer with development and implementation of QA/QC and laboratory programs
    • Lead operations staff – recruitment, hiring, training, performance reviews, discipline and career development
    • Immediately groom existing staff, or recruit, for cellar, packaging and QA/QC staff additions
    • Proactively research, build and implement industry best practices within our operations – process improvement
    • Lead and conduct weekly operations staff meetings
    • Build weekly operations summary and report to the Founders and Head Brewer

    Candidate Qualifications
    • 5+ years’ experience in a craft brewery producing more than 20,000 barrels per year
    • Self-motivated, self-starter with ability to excel in instances of limited direction
    • Excellent interpersonal, communications, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Dedicated sense of urgency and drive to achieve objectives
    • Experience with semi-automated and automated brewing and packaging systems, including canning
    • Basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical and machinery knowledge
    • Laboratory, QA and QC programs experience
    • Experience leading teams, including direct accountable supervision and career development responsibilities
    • Process development/improvement and project management experience
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with varying levels of importance and difficulty
    • Computer and software competency, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills/experience
    • Regulatory knowledge and experience (OSHA, TTB, etc.)
    • Undergraduate degree preferred – field of study not critical
    • Additional formal brewing education beneficial (Siebel, UC Davis, ABG, etc.)
    • Desire to work hard, play hard and get things done

    Salary and Benefits
    COOP Ale Works offers competitive salaries based on experience. This position includes semi-annual reviews as well as merit-based bonuses, raises and profit sharing. We also offer a benefits package, paid vacation, sick leave and paid holidays. Position eligible for relocation allowance, based on candidate qualifications and circumstances.
