I picked up an open (non-pressurizable) horizontal dairy tank for almost free. I am thinking of using it for a mixed-culture fermentation tank. I will need to pump it into barrels after primary fermentation. Can I use a CIP pump (2 HP variable speed) to do this, or do I need a special pump? Seems like it could go either way, work just fine or be real messy if there is a lot of CO2 in it still.
