Position: Director of Brewery Operations
Reports To: Managing Partner
Revolution Brewery has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Director of Brewery Operations. This position will be located out of our production brewery at 3340 N. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago, IL.
Description:
The Brewery Operations Manager is a senior position and will be responsible for overseeing all production activities in the brewery including shipping and receiving while collaborating with other department heads to ensure timely production of our brand.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for all scheduling of production team as well as hiring, training and development, performance reviews and discipline.
• Provides leadership for the proper operation and maintenance of equipment while providing a safe, clean work environment.
• Communicates on inventory management efforts ensuring quality in all areas with Head Brewer, BTC and Packaging Manager including raw materials, packaging
and finished goods.
• Maintains a safety first working environment for employees by maintaining facility and equipment in optimal working conditions while making sure all safety
requirements are being met on the production floor.
• Establishes S.O.P’s for production floor.
• Monitors cost variances and reports them to management.
• Demonstrates interdepartmental coordination, strong written and verbal communication between departments on the production floor daily.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year College or university; Four years of brewing or plant operations management experience.
Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft software programs (word, excel) and ERP systems (such as SAP).
Other Requirements:
Flexibility in Scheduling as some evening, and weekend availability will be required. You will be expected to be on call 24/7 for brewery issues.
Analytical thinking and the ability to make situational appropriate decisions based on available facts, brewing knowledge, and experience.
Physical Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs. and repeatedly and to maneuver heavier items such as 160 lb. kegs on occasion
• Able to stand in excess of 8 to 10 hours at a time
• Able to work in excessive temperatures and in a wet environment for extended periods of time
• Able to drive forklift and operate machinery safely while maintain a safety first mentality.
