    We are looking for a detailed and highly organized individual to join our team here at Flying Dog Brewery. This position requires the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment. This position is hands on and works interactively across many departments. Flexibility to adapt and adjust plans quickly when needed is an important quality.
    If this sounds like you, your days could be spent coordinating delivery of raw materials, including some on a just in time basis, ordering and sourcing various items for operations, tracking delivery on orders and reconciling receiving. Experience in Excel is used to calculate savings, packaging levels and ordering intervals and more.
    The Purchasing Specialist will report to the VP of Finance and will support all departments in their purchasing needs.

    Main Responsibilities
    • Building relationships with the brewery’s external suppliers.
    • Works with vendors and department managers to correct any manufacturing or quality concerns.
    • Track delivery on all orders, reconcile all receiving and work closely with Accounts Payable.
    • Foster close working relationships across all departments; sales and marketing, brewing, packaging, lab and maintenance.
    • Coordinate orders of raw materials and packaging with the production schedule.
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing business environment .
    • Ability to create, manipulate and understand Excel spreadsheets.
    • Experience working with Great Plains is a plus.
    • 2+ years experience in a purchasing role preferred.
