    Funkwerks is a Fort Collins based brewery looking for a Cellar person to join our 11-person team. We value open and honest communication from all team members as well as humble hard work. If you enjoy contributing to the greater good of the company, wearing many hats and going to bed tired, this job could be a great fit for you. Our goal is to create amazing beers that are consistent and flawless every time. Our cellar person will be an intricate part of day-to-day operations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Cellar-Specific):
    • Assist in day-to-day brewery operations
    • Assist in brewery cellars, brewhouse, and packaging area
    • Monitor fermentation by reading and logging gravities and temps of beer daily
    • CIP of small parts regularly
    • CIP of fermenters/bright tanks
    • Communicate with brewery team in clear, timely manner
    • Transfer beer to brite tanks and transfer yeast to fermenters
    • Crash tanks, dry hop tanks, dump yeast as needed
    • Assist with maintenance and overall cleanliness of entire brewery and cellar including; tank exteriors, floors, and milling room
    • Train new personnel in proper equipment operation
    • Work on a ladder periodically with safety harness up to height of 18 feet
    • Support retail taproom staff as needed and assigned
    • Professionally represent the brewery at events, festivals, and promotions
    • Represent the brewery in a professional manner at all times
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Packaging-Specific):
    • Operate and maintain two Maheen automatic bottling machines, and all other
    associated bottling equipment
    • Operate and maintain kegging lines
    • Keep and maintain packaging records
    • CIP bottling and kegging lines
    • Clean brewery facilities, kegging, and canning areas on a regular schedule
    • Train new bottling/kegging line personnel in proper machine operation and safety procedures
    • Stack bottles and kegs
    • Recognize low fills and improperly filled/packaged product
    • Support retail taproom staff as needed and assigned
    • Organize inventory of shells, lids, boxes, caps, collars, handles, wrap, picks, glue, and stickers
    • Assist in brewhouse and cellar as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned



    Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
    • Strong knowledge of the brewing and fermentation processes
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Absolute passion for brewing and the craft beer industry
    • Strict attention to detail
    • Desire to learn, grow, and take on increased responsibility
    • Experience operating a forklift, or desire to learn to operate a forklift
    • Adaptable to changes in brewing, packaging, and production schedules
    • Ensure preventative maintenance procedures occur accurately and routinely
    • General knowledge of lab procedures (Cell Counts, Plating, Growth Media Etc…)
    • Have a current driver’s license with no DUI’s
    • Promote “get it done no matter what” positive attitude
    • High-quality work standards with and without direct supervision
    • Ability to understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Material Safety Data, Sheets (MSDS)
    • Maintain punctuality and predictable attendance to ensure schedule stays on track
    • Abide by proper and safe operations of every machine in work area and follow all safety rules
    • Ability to lift 55 lbs. to shoulder-height repeatedly
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 170 lbs., reach over shoulders, and perform repetitive motions without issue
    • Prior experience in a production brewery or production facility preferred
    • Prior experience on the Maheen Manufacturing bottling line preferred
    • Strong preference given to candidates with a hard science degree or formal brewing training
