    Craft Brew Alliance, representing high quality hand crafted beers with a portfolio from Widmer Brothers Brewing Company, Redhook Brewery, Kona Brewing Co. and Omission has an immediate opening for a Brewing Operations Manager in Kailua-Kona, HI. The primary responsibility is for the oversight and day-to-day tactical management of the Kona brewing operations, and serves as the ambassador for the Kona Brewing Company.

    Specific duties include:
    • Support the Company’s mission statement and Made True values.
    • Provides overall leadership for the Kona Brewery to ensure efficient and cost effective brewing, packaging, quality control, inventory control and storage.
    • Provides leadership to Hawaii Kona and CBA teams, become the face of Kona Brewery Company, both internal and external.
    • Collaborates with the corporate engineering function to execute strategic capital projects to maximize production/facility capabilities for reduced costs, improved margins and continuous process improvements.
    • Collaborates with Supply Chain and capacity planning functions to ensure production goals and objectives are met, and timely shipments are realized.
    • Leads the assessment of brewing processes, procedures and equipment, and makes recommendations for capital improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operating cost.
    • Develops standard operating procedures and training criteria for all production equipment and processes to ensure safe and efficient operation.
    • Develops implements and tracks various measurable goals, metrics and key performance indicators. Identifies variances and recommends appropriate actions for improvement.
    • Works in collaboration with Human Resources with the selection, training, succession planning and performance management of all production staff.
    • Oversees the sustainability initiatives specifically related to sustainable products and processes, waste management, environmental stewardship and efficient energy usage.
    • Interfaces with Corporate Brewing and Procurement to source raw materials (including specialty items – coffee, coconut, passion fruit, etc.)
    • Collaborates with various internal/external partners in support of special events and festivals.
    • Ensures facility and manufacturing compliance with all State, Federal and local laws and governance.
    • Provides a safe and sanitary production environment.
    • Interfaces with the various product development teams to evaluate current capabilities and capacity, and recommends alternative plans, if necessary.
    • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
    • In conjunction with the Sr. Dir. of Brewery Operations, develops and executes annual budgets and plans.



    Position requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Brewing Operations, or equivalent work experience. Cicerone certification is a plus. Professional certification from AOB, IBD or similar is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing operations management experience in a consumer packaged goods organization. Brewing or beverage manufacturing and packaging experience is preferred.
