  • Laser chiller ... Possible?

    Hello All!

Ok we are trying to build a lost cost chilling system for our 5bbl brewery startup...

i saw those laser chiller on aliexpress,
there is several options available, and we were thinking about trying them,

there is numerous models, ranging around 6000 btu/hr cooling capacity,

the idea is to use 1 like this of sufficient size to cool down a 500L tank of glycol witch gonna be our chilling reservoir pumped up to our FV jacket...

any though on a system like this?
any body ever use comparable chiller?
if not you think they could work out well?

for around 1500$ shipped it could make a pretty good deal!

    Thanks for any help!

      Hey thanks for your answer!

on my side i just wrote to the company that make those chiller with the specification i need, and ask if they think one of their chiller can fit my needs,

Witch is keeping a 500L glycol bath at 0-2 C that could potentially tamper around 24000 btu/hr of thermal load...

Il post here the answer if its satisfying!

        2 stage chiller

we are looking in to something similar. I am looking to use a draft line chiller to cool a brine tank and then circ the brine through coils in the fermentors.

          Brine...

yeah we think about Brine too,
what would you use as a salt NaCl or CaCl2?

I really guest its less expensive than usp prop. glycol...

Is there any disadvantage to using a brine in the cooling circuit?
I would think about corrosion problems, or anything else?

          Anybody?

          Thanks!
