  • Moving from DE to Lenticular

    Hi!

Thinking of selling our DE to get a Lenticular. Lower maintenance, quicker to setup and keep clean and less O2 pickup especially.

Anyone who did such move in the past wants to share their experience?

    Thanks!
    Cheers!

I feel your pain and we were in a similar situation recently as we rebuilt our 20 yr old filter. Honestly it is frustrating and hard to keep clean, but it's also a workhorse and next to a centrifuge just about the best value in terms of cost to filter per barrel. Pm me if you have any specific questions about how to make DE filtration less of a headache.

We added a Lenny after our DE to polish. It takes a lot of water to rinse before and after the run is the only thing I am not thrilled about.

Never had DE but I love my PALL SupraDisk II filter. Easy to maintain and operate. Not as cheap as DE per BBL and as mentioned above it takes a lot of water to back flush. Another limitation is if you are doing more then 40 BBL a pop may be this is not filter for you.
