Running New Glycol Lines

Hi Everyone. I am in the process of planning out the Glycol lines from our 5HP G&D Chiller to our 15bbl tanks. Keeping in mind future expansion, what size Cool Fit ABS do I want to run as the main line, and then down to each tank? I was thinking of going with a 4" main line->T reducer to 2" valve, then another T reducer to go to 1" to each tank that has the solenoid. would this be a problem? and for the solenoid do I want open or close by default? we are planing on mounting the piping with Unistrut.

Last question, does anyone have any recommendations for a materials supplier for these parts in the PNW?

Your main header does not need to be larger than 2" in your case.

Hi Tim,

It really depends on your eventual build out, but unless you plan to really go big- 4" is likely overkill for your brewery. But it is really good to upsize the header now for the future.

If you'd like to submit a layout drawing of your brewery, with the eventual build out forecasted in, we can run some flow estimates and provide a quote for the CoolFit ABS Products as well as the solenoid valves (Normally Closed Solenoid Valves that operate on a 0 pressure differential) and temperature controllers needed for each vessel. The layout drawing can just be a dimensioned hand sketch showing chiller location and the location of all the vessels and heat exchangers that will be serviced by the chiller system.
