  • Dry yeast sub for dry english

I am currently using White labs 007 Dry English Yeast for several of my beers and I was wondering if any of you with far more experience with the use dry yeasts (I am new to the dry stuff) have found an acceptable substitute.

I ran across this today purely by chance. Not sure how accurate it is, but it may be a starting point

Not sure I agree with that link - I see US-04 as more of a sub for WLP002 not WLP007

I use S-04 for my ESB. I really like it

I would suggest Danstar Nottingham. Great yeast and not nearly as estery as S-O4

S-04 is superb . Flocculates well . Good for beers that you want to filter.

Safale so4 is rumored to be the exact stain you're currently using in liquid form - whitbread dry. S04 is an awesome yeast, very similar to 007 if not identical. Ymmv of course.

                Nottingham and Windsor

Hi if you would like more information on the Lallemand Nottingham and Windsor strains (both English). I can provide you with what they compare to as well as technical data.

Can't go wrong with S04! We brew for another brewery and they use Nottingham....S04 kicks its butt every time, with our gear, with our ingredients...YMMV.
