  • Bent keg valves/tops--WTF?

I've been working here for over 15 years. In that time, I've never seen the top of a keg with the valve bent to the side--until about a year ago, and now it's epidemic. I'm seeing one or two a month, and since there are no longer any keg repair businesses in the NW area (that I know of), these kegs are scrap metal.

This looks like it would have to happen when the keg has a coupler on it (no dents, just the valve/stem bent to the side), and my best guess is that it results from full kegs stacked with couplers attached--any other guesses?

I've asked some of our distributors to keep an eye out and see if these are--as I suspect--coming back from one place.

Had a full keg fall onto another keg, chime landed directly on the coupling port, bent it without denting anything else. That would be my guess as to what happened.
