  • Yeast re-pitch rate for barrel aged beer for bottle conditioning.

    Hiya all,
Going to be bottling my first porter aged 6 months in oak barrels. What would be a good yeast re-pitch rate per 220L barrel? I've read about 10g per hectolitre should do the trick. Does this sound about right?

    We will be bottle conditioning.

    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hi Rob,
My name is Caroline and I am the East Coast US Rep for Lallemand Brewing Yeasts. Yes 10g/hL is the correct pitching rate if using our product CBC-1. I am happy to send the technical data sheet for more information if you would like it. Just email me at cparnin@siebelinstitute.com for more info.
