  • Cleaning without CIP ball

We just picked up a used 30 bbl Letina fermenter for a song. The tank doesn't have a CIP arm/ball like our others. I was curious if anyone had some suggestions on the proper way to clean these. Thanks!

Since you got it so cheaply why not pay to have one installed?

      Welder required.

I have 40hl Letinas. I welded a ferrule into the top lid that I can fit a sprayball into. I use an elbow to turn the CIP to take the strain off the hose. Close it with a cap when CIP is finished. Works well, and is cheap. BTW, seems that the lids are chrome-plated SS? Never saw that before, but the welding was more involved with first abrading the plating away from the weld areas.
