  • Cleaning under fermenter/brite tank feet

We're seeing water, etc., trapped under the tank feet, and want to eliminate that as a place for mold and other funk to build up. Any suggestions?

Chlorinated caustic solutions are necessary to eliminate the spores that cause mould.

There are acid foams for cleaning the outside of tanks which, to some degree at least, inhibit the growth of moulds. I once used a device which was attached to an air compressor which sent out the acid foam through a wand. This gave quite a mechanical cleaning action as well that was very good at getting at those hard to reach places under under tanks. Cleaned up the brewery tanks and the white foam everywhere made it look like Christmas.
