Magic Hat Brewing Co needs a dedicated, experienced person to help us package the best beer on earth! Our Line Operators perform all tasks involved in the packaging of products on one of our 3 lines: bottling, canning or kegging. This includes machine operation, inspection, maintenance and packing.
We are currently working 4x10 hour days - 7am to 5:30pm Tuesday through Friday. Beginning in early May, we will to return to 2 shifts through the summer: 5 days a week 7am - 3:30pm or 3:30pm to 11pm. We do not currently know which shift new hires will be assigned to once we return to 2 shifts so candidates MUST have flexible availability.
All roles in the brewery require availability to work other shifts and in other departments in order to best meet business needs. The successful candidate for this role will be punctual, motivated, willing to ask questions and suggest improvements. Please be aware that this role will train on first shift so candidates must have the ability to work full time first shift for the first 8 weeks of employment, then transition to second shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely set-up and operate packaging equipment as directed.
Troubleshoot machinery during operation.
Make necessary adjustments to misadjusted equipment and report major malfunctions.
Manage quality control of all machine applications.
Maintain quality control of product leaving designated machine.
Wear the proper safety equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Clean machines at the end of packaging run.
Be flexible with tasks - must be willing to do what needs to be done, including extensive, thorough and frequent cleaning.
Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to perform thorough documentation of production paperwork.
Must be willing to cross train on various pieces of equipment.
Understanding of Continuous Improvement / Lean principles preferred but not required.
