  • FrankenMash configuration question

So I'm building a 10-ish bbl frankenbrew system. I scored this crazy 800 gallon SS tank for el cheepo and want to make two tanks out of it, mash and a HLT, or something. My question is this: what are your expert opinions on which configuration would make a decent mash tun? I drew it up best I could and labeled the different sections that I can split it into (see pictures below). I'm thinking that scenario #1 or #2 would be best. I have the means and time to futts with this thing all winter, can pretty much fab whatever I need to make it work... fun stuff!
I suppose the main question is: would a deeper trough (scenario # 2) be better or worse than a flat bottom (scenario #1)?

Or scenario #4: just become a junk dealer... because shopping for frankenbrew pieces is just so much fun! On the same day I also scored a rather large and nice plate HX for cheep... on a role.

    Thanks a bunch!
